Disclaimer: I'm not an expert. This is mostly for my own convenience.

<<NOTES>>

• Intel 13th/14th Gen irreversible damage on news (i9-13900K, i7-137000K, i9-14900K)
• Windows 11 privacy probably completely hopeless (Windows Recall)
• Ask if storage and RAM are upgradeable just in case
• Get a darn laptop cooler
• For laptops with dedicated graphics, remember to manually set those resource-intensive games to use the NVIDIA just in case
• Battery cap to 60% so it doesn't deteriorate within 3 years

• IMPORTANT: BE THERE WHEN THE OS IS INSTALLED FOR CUSTOM INSTALL (REMOVE CORTANA, ETC.)

<<SPECS>>

• Processor:
  
  - i5 10th Gen G1 @ 1.00 GHz might work, but I'm skeptical (my current laptop's processor, which honestly works fine)
  - i7 12th Gen G7 or H @ or over 3.70 GHz turbo is ideal (likely expensive)
  - I don't trust 13th and 14th Gen Intel stuff
  - Ryzen 5 and 7 probably work fine, I haven't looked into it much (bonus by not supporting Intel)
  - my darling's has a Ryzen 5 5500U that seems to work pretty decent (at least compared to mine)


• GPU:
  
  - probs fine as long as it's a dedicated NVIDIA GTX smth
  - i haven't researched too much about this
  - integrated Ryzen might work (based on my darling's laptop)


• Disk:
  
  - i quite like my current setup of a 256 GB SSD and a 1 TB HDD
  - currently using: ST1000LM035-1RK172 / NVMe HFM256GDJTNG-8310A
  - todo: how to read that
  - can potentially get a 512 GB Samsung SSD


• RAM:
  
  - 12 GB whatever is probably fine
  - i could settle for 8 GB too if i have to


• OS:
  
  - Windows 10.
